Branding ABC: A behind the scenes look at entertainment marketing
Friday, September 21
11:00 a.m. central
Presented by:
Matt Pashkow (Pash), renowned design strategist, author and educator
What happens when a Los Angeles design entrepreneur who managed to keep the entertainment industry at arm’s length for nearly twenty years gets seduced into the world of high profile broadcast network television? The learning curve was steep, but the perspective is fresh—and Matt Pashkow (Pash) will share many insights, war stories, successes, and lots and lots of failures. He’ll touch on life in the corporate world, how his creative teams are structured, and may even drop the names of a couple A, B, and C-list celebrities. Intrigued and frustrated by his observation that entertainment creatives seldom “play with others,” Pash will address why entertainment marketing is so often dominated by practices of the world of advertising rather than the world of design. And finally he’ll touch on how overseeing brand for ABC is complicated by the fact that the network is owned by Disney, arguably the world’s most beloved entertainment company.
