Coffee Fest & Yarn Bombs

Ever heard of yarn bombing? It is a type of graffiti or street art per se that employs colorful public displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk and it’s coming to San Antonio. La Villita is set to plan a Yard Bomb in it’s Art Village for December 1 to complement its free Coffee Fest. Artists and volunteers will be applying knit of their own making around the tree trunks and branches at La Villita.

The free Coffee Festival is scheduled for noon-5 p.m. Dec. 1 at La Villita with some 20 or so coffee vendors handing out caffeinated beverages through flights and other tastings, demonstrations, etc.

Application of the woven yarn will begin Nov. 28. Read more on mysanantonio.com or visit the event page on La Villita’s facebook page.
